Does Art have a use?

This is an interesting question asked by Artist, Arno Morland and partly answered in this TED talk by Allain de Botton..  

And what does all of this have to do with internet marketing? We'll quite a lot, actually. Most marketers are using images to convey their messages and most Facebook posts are image posts. If images with a message like the one below from Brendon Burchard can help to convey his message to his close to 2 Million Facebook users, then just imagine what difference an Artist can make if his message are properly conveyed.
 Compare the Message of the image above -  with the message on the image below and decide for yourself which has the potential to be more powerful.
